Yves Cass was born on January 17, 1947 in Creil. He passes all his youth to Normandy, in Trouville s/m and obtains his baccalaureat series philosophy in 1967, with the college Malherbe de Deauville. He follows the courses of the higher school of journalism, street from Rennes in Paris, before following the occupation of journalist until 1975. He remains and works then in Africa during a few years. Yves Cass did not cease painting since his childhood and takes part in many exposures as a professional amateur then. Its dimension is referred by the international guide akoun, since 1996. Painter, sculptor and ceramist, Cass are also a copper plate engraver. It completes work on papers in "mixed techniques" where elements of its engravings are found in joinings near stamps and of old envelopes, raised with the feather and by inkings in washing.

CASS is a poet of the emotion, through his tables, it continues to move us and to allure us. One finds in his work his force, his tenderness, his sensuality, his melancholy, his concerns and his certainty mystical.
It sings the love, its intoxications and its ruptures with such a sensitivity that some of its tables would deserve to appear in the large anthologies of painting in love.
To penetrate in the universe of CASS, it is to look at an ancient world impresses mythology, which leaves an outline of color, a drawing which grows blurred, a blue which surprises like the last door hiding a primitive secrecy however sophisticated.
CASS likes nature, the animals, the objects, it chooses them, thus assembles them and composes of works which make us dream.
In his imagery which seems inexhaustible, one makes provision of fairyhood and of refinement, its ambition is not to show the appearance of the things, but to describe the signs of them… A spiritual adventure.
