Biography

Yves Cass was born on January 17, 1947 in Creil.

He spent all his youth in Normandy, in Trouville s / m and obtained his baccalaureate in philosophy series in 1967, at the Malherbe high school in Deauville.

He attended the graduate school of journalism, rue de Rennes in Paris, before exercising the profession of journalist until 1975.

He then stayed and worked in Africa for a few years. Yves Cass has not stopped painting since his childhood and participates in numerous exhibitions as an amateur and then a professional.

Painter, sculptor and ceramist, Cass is also a copper engraver. He works on paper in “mixed techniques” where elements of his engravings are found in collages with stamps and old envelopes, enhanced with pen and inks in wash.

Its coast has been referenced by the International AKOUN guide since 1996 and it has appeared in the WHO's WHO since 2005.

This is the first book devoted to the works of Yves CASS, prefaced by Martin GRAY, it appeared in 1999 under the presses of the “mirror of art” in BRUSSELS.

It has 93 pages including 74 reproductions with an interview with the artist which specifies the meaning of his work. Format: 30x22.5cm

Meetings

"Meetings can turn a life upside down, open windows to bring in the breeze from the open sea and the great outdoors.

I was lucky that exceptional people crossed my back roads:

anonymous, (such as my French teacher with whom I corresponded all his life) and famous, whose list is long, artists, actors, singers and writers.

With the passing of time, I remember with emotion my long conversations with Martin GRAY, the author of "In the name of all mine" who had made me discover his dramatic life. I subsequently had the good fortune to meet him at his home in Tanneron and our exchanges were of unforgettable human richness. He later agreed to write the preface to my first book "Millennial Legacies" ... "
